Venture Philanthropy

Venture philanthropy can be an important source of funding and support for smaller/earlier-stage, high-performing organizations with ambitions for rapid growth.

Venture philanthropy provides multi-year funding (usually in the form of general operating support) and active support (pro-bono consulting and/or board membership) to help its nonprofits achieve their objectives. This approach is usually most valuable for smaller/earlier stage organizations led by confident “social entrepreneurs” with ambitions to rapidly growth their scale and/or impact. Although the venture philanthropy community is small, it has played a critical role in the development of many high-performing nonprofits.
