The Contact Fund

Contact Fund makes loans to support the real estate, working capital and expansion capital needs of high-impact nonprofits working on behalf of low-income New Yorkers. Contact Fund seeks to deploy its capital in special situations that require a level of flexibility generally unavailable from conventional lenders.

cf-logoContact Fund’s loans range from $100,000 to $600,000, currently bear interest between 5% and 6%, and have a term of four years or less. The Contact Fund seeks to deploy its capital in special situations where it is the most valuable.

Contact Fund was established by Mark Reed in 2005 to flow capital from socially-motivated individual investors into New York City nonprofits; investors seeking a balance of social and financial return from their participation in the fund. Contact Fund currently has over 60 investors including individuals, family foundations and donor advised funds.

Since inception, Contact Fund has made 26 loans, of which 15 are currently in the portfolio. SeaChange Capital Partners assumed responsibility for managing Contact Fund in 2013.
